Bella has a lot of trouble with the “l” sound. Not unusual for her age, I know. But it does make for some funny sounding constructions. Most of the time I don’t even notice anymore, I fill in the missing “l” much as I fill in the missing “r” which is dropped by so many people here in Massachusetts. At other times I’m left scratching my head while Bella drops to the floor in frustration.
And then there are the times when I’m just about dropped to the floor with laughter. The funniest one has got to be when as part of her post-bath pre-bedtime ritual she asks for Dom to put lotion on her legs: “ocean on the egg” she says. Indeed.
