Today we met a group of friends from church for a picnic in the park and a dip in the wading pool. Dom got to come with us, because archdiocesean employees get feast days off.
We sat at picnic tables outside of the pool area to eat. Isabella couldn’t wait to get to where all the action was. She clung to the fence and cried until I put down my lunch and took her in to go play in the water.
Isabella became especially attached to her cousin, Chiara. She followed her around, and even plopped herself down in her lap. This was probably in part because she coveted Chiara’s cup of tortilla chips. She emptied it once while Chiara was off playing and I then had to refill the cup when she returned and apologize for Bella’s thievery. Chiara wasn’t too sure she really wanted the attention; but was a good sport about it.
