I don’t recall why she was wearing only a diaper. She’d pulled the belt out of the trash (the leather had ripped where it connects to the buckle.) and insisted we wrap it around her waist.

I’ve been going through something similar and am struggling with pregnancy-related insomnia. It’s insanely frustrating because I’m really tired and need the rest, but I just can’t sleep. I know exactly what feeling you’re talking about when you’re lying in bed and know that you have a loooong day ahead of you that is going to require much patience, and you’re going to be facing in on much less sleep than you need.
Unfortunately I don’t have any words of wisdom, just wanted to let you know I can relate, and you’ll be in my 4am prayers!
I often have insomnia during pregnancy (particularly, for me, toward the end, exactly when I most need sleep). I also tend to lost patience much more while pregnant (maybe because of the lack of sleep!)
Here is a prayer I got in the habit of saying in the morning to help with patience:
“Dear Blessed Mother, please help me to make my home like the one in Nazareth. Give me a gentle spirit, a cheerful heart, and constant patience for these little ones entrusted to my care, through Christ our Lord. Amen.”
It really seems to help!

Thanks to you both for the prayers. I’m glad to know this insomnia is not unusual. I know with me the lack of patience is definitely tied to how tired/nauseous I am.
