Take a Photo of this Moment

I open the fridge to get a snack and Isabella shows up as if by magic. She starts to grab food, a bunch of mini-grapes and the bowl of cottage cheese left over from her breakfast, flipping out the spoon I’d left in it and spilling cottage cheese on the floor.  I grumbling clean up the mess. And then somehow find myself sitting on the floor, Bella in my lap, sharing a bowl of cottage cheese. Then when we’d polished that off, we picked out way through the grapes. It was so much easier for her to help herself from the bowl than to pull them off the bunch for her.

She stands up, walks a few steps, climbs back into my lap. Sits and stands and bounces on my leg. And her tiny little fingers grasping the tiny grapes and popping them into her mouth.

Suddenly I realize that this is just about as good as it gets. Picnicking on the floor with my daughter, cuddling and sharing a snack while she smiles and laughs. A sweet spontaneous moment. I wished it could last forever.
