Monday November 12/h2>

Bella: math, composition (draft of a letter), read and narrate Story of the Church (about Pius X intervening to try to prevent WWI), I read and discussed an article on the Treaty of Versailles and post-WWI reparations. She’s reading The Lost Dinosaurs of Egypt.

Sophie: math, copywork, French, Child’s Geography

Ben: math, copywork, Explode the Code, read Little Bear

Anthony: math, copywork.

Lucy: copywork

I’ve been reading WWI poems the last few days. Today we also looked at a short video of three poems that had been animated. Also looked at photographs of a sculpture installation in a cemetery in England, eleven ghostly soldiers made of chicken wire standing near their graves, one for each fallen soldier from the small town.

Afternoon stories: Doll’s House, Story of the World, Magna Charta, St Louis de Montfort, Book of Marvels, Lectionary Readings. Good discussion of the readings.

Bedtime story: Canadian Summer

Legos.

Tuesday November 13

Bella: math, composition, Latin grammar (endings for the second declension), read and narrate George Washington’s World (about the Seven Years War), She’s still reading The Lost Dinosaurs of Egypt.

Sophie: math, copywork, French (Duolingo)

Ben: math, copywork, Explode the Code, read Little Bear

Anthony: math, copywork, read and narrate from People in History (about St Gregory and St Augustine of Canterbury).

Lucy: copywork (Hickory, Dickory, Dock)

Afternoon stories: Library picture book about Henry the Navigator, Doll’s House, St Louis de Montfort, Men Microscopes and Living Things, Lectionary Readings.

Bedtime story: Canadian Summer

Even nine year old boys sometimes fall prey to the need for curlicue writing.
Ben helps Lucy make rice.

Wednesday November 14
