Ben: math, copywork, Bob book, Explode the Code.
Sophie: math, copywork, dictation.
Bella: math, copywork, read and narrated history (Sea to Shining Sea) and science (James Herriott’s All Creatures Great and Small.)
Bella and I had another in our ongoing discussions about daily goals and scheduling work.
Afternoon stories: Finished Son of Charlemagne. St Magnus, St Benedict.
Bedtime story: Bella read everyone a chapter in The Winged Watchman.


Tuesday July 31
Anthony: math, copywork, read about St Ignatius Loyola.
Ben: math, copywork.
Sophie: attempted math, copywork.
Bella: math, copywork.
Afternoon expedition to Ned’s Point in Mattapoisett for our Shakespeare class and beach free play.
Bedtime story: Winged Watchman.



Wednesday August 1
Field trip to Mystic Seaport. Listened to Swallows and Amazons in the car.
Mayflower II carpentry, ship’s chandlery, fishing/lobster fishing/oyster fishery. Rope walk. Sail makers and rigging. Joseph Conrad training ship. Wood carving. Blacksmith. Town: grocery, chemist, doctor’s office, reading room, schoolhouse.








Thursday August 2
My birthday. I declare it a holiday and we do no work.

Friday August 3
Everyone did math and copywork. Ben also did Explode the Code. Lucy read part of a Bob book.
