What Is It?

What Is It?

Does anyone know what this guy is? This is the second time we’ve turned one up while weeding the garden. Inquiring minds want to know and I have no idea how to look up what I’m assuming is an immature member of the family insecta.

  • I’m sorry for you and your dearth of quiet time; however, it’s a comfort knowing I’m not the only mom who is unable to figure out how to synchronize nap/quiet time for three children.  smile

  • scotch meg,

In the last year or so she’s napped just about everywhere imaginable from our bed to the floor of the pantry/laundry room. I think what bugs me most is my own lack of consistency. I am very much stuck in doing whatever will get me through one day at a time. Still, I do know it will pass. Someday.

Kate, yes it is a comfort knowing I’m not the only one doing this particular dance.

  • Perhaps a change of venue?  If it works to send Bella outside at naptime so you can settle down Sophie and Ben, what about a separate space inside?  I remember having trouble settling children all in the same room, but what I did was put one child on my bed for quiet time.  Then little noises (like reading aloud) didn’t disturb others, and sometimes (as on Bella’s blanket), a nap occurred.
If everything went really well, I would lie down on the couch in the living room…
Sleep issues are really, really hard at this stage, because you need sleep so badly yourself.  Hang in there, it does get better.
