In Just-

In Just-

Today Bella is outside again dipping into the mud puddles and one of my favorite e. e. cummings poems drifted into my head… mud-luscious! puddle-wonderful! So I thought I’d share.

Unfortunately my blog software will probably mess up the spacing; but there’s not much I can do about it.

in Just-
spring     when the world is mud-
luscious the little
lame balloonman

whistles     far     and wee

and eddieandbill come
running from marbles and
piracies and it’s
spring

when the world is puddle-wonderful

the queer
old balloonman whistles
far     and     wee
and bettyandisbel come dancing

from hop-scotch and jump-rope and

it’s
spring
and
  the

        goat-footed

balloonMan     whistles
far
and
wee

—e. e. cummings

  • Hi, Melanie. I’ve just come across some information I thought you and your husband and daughter Isabella might deeply enjoy. It turns out that anyone named “Isabella” gets free admission to the Isabella Stewart Gardner museum, *forever.* It says so on their information page!

    I enjoy your blog.

    Best wishes,
    Nancy
