More Frugal Decorating: The Miss Rumphius Effect

I was dismayed and disappointed a while back when I obtained a used copy of Miss Rumphius only to find out too late that the book was missing the first page and had other pages falling out. I hate to throw books away even damaged ones, so I put it on a high shelf where Bella couldn’t find it and put the book back on my wish list.

Then when unpacking, I came across the book again, and it occurred to me that somewhere online I’d seen someone talk about framing pages of damaged books. And oh my wouldn’t some of these pages look lovely hanging in Isabella and Sophia’s room? So Tuesday I finally got some frames and pulled out half a dozen of the best full page illustrations. Bella was very excited. I think they’ll work quite nicely.

The photos aren’t so great, with the glare and all; but you can get a bit of an idea.

  • Don’t forget the roasted potatoes and brussel sprouts, plus the stuffing FB brought and the green bean casserole and monkey bread Evy brought. smile
