Finally posting pictures of my Christmas present from Dom, a new computer desk (so I no longer have to balance my laptop precariously on the arm of the couch when it’s not in use).
I actually do have a desk. Or did when we got married, Dom’s using it now. It was mostly a stuff repository, a place to pile papers and books and glasses and who knows what else. But even then I tended to use my laptop while sitting on my bed or on the couch. These days I’m usually in the rocker/recliner with a blanket on my lap and a glass perched on the arm of the futon next to me. Books I might need are piled on the couch or the futon.
I expect the computer desk will really come in handy when I’m back to doing the one-handed web-surfing and blog writing while newborn Sophie is latched on, cradled in the other arm. I think it’s a great improvement over the tv tray I was using with Bella. It’s got wheels and it tilts nicely
Thanks, Melanie—I’m adding this to my reading list. Interesting timing—my book club just chose The Sparrow as one of our 2008 reads (and I picked up the sequel as well).
It is a great book. I read it last year and I HIGHLY recommend it.
Ooh, it sounds very good. Not that I need new reasons to stay up too late ….
Wonderful! Another book for my list!!!!
