How long does it take to recover from a vacation?
As far as my getting things done, today’s been another wash. This morning I had to be home while the plumber, our landlord, and the inspector were fixing our water heating system. (Which process entailed their disconnecting our furnace which was previously heating the water, blowing a fuse, and needing to get parts to get the furnace online again.)
Finally they left and we have both hot water and heat. (HOORAY!!!) But by then it was time for Bella’s afternoon nap. I put her down and then collapsed on the couch and slept for a good two hours myself. By the time I woke up, I decided that running to the post office and the store would be an exercise in frustration as it would necessitate fighting rush-hour traffic. (And anyway, it’s about time to start making dinner.) So we’ll do that tomorrow morning.
But my one accomplishment today was finally washing Bella’s stuffed piggy and her piggy slippers…. It almost caused a crisis at naptime when she missed them; but they were getting so gross, it was totally necessary.
