My mother-in-law, Virginia, is going in for knee surgery tomorrow. She had her other knee done last year and it was a pretty traumatic process. She was allergic to the metal staples they used to close up her knee and so it didn’t heal properly; she had a bad reaction to the painkillers they had her on; and the physical therapy was tough with the other knee still bad.
I’m hoping everything will go much more smoothly this time, with the doctors having learned from what went wrong last time. But Dom and I would still appreciate your prayers for his mum. May God bless her and keep her safe. May he guide her doctors and nurses so they give her the best care possible. May the Holy Spirit be with her and comfort her both during the surgery and during the long recovery and rehabilitation.
