Waiting for Angels

Waiting for Angels

I’ve decided to make a sort of scrapbook or commonplace book for Advent. Collecting images and words that speak to me. I thought maybe someone else might like to ponder along with me. Please share your thoughts about the words and images.

“As my prayer became more attentive and inward,
I had less and less to say.
I finally became completely silent.
I started to listen.
I first thought that praying entailed speaking.
I then learnt that praying is hearing,
not merely being silent.
This is how it is.
To pray does not mean to listen to oneself speaking,
Prayer involves becoming silent,
And waiting until God is heard.”

~~Søren Kierkegaard~~

The World I Live In

I have refused to live
locked in the orderly house of
reasons and proofs;
The world I live in and believe in
is wider than that. And anyway.
what’s wrong with Maybe?

You wouldn’t believe what once or
twice I have seen. I’ll just
tell you this:
only if there are angels in your head will you
ever, possibly, see one.
