Sounds a lovely selection of books – some I have or know, some I don’t. Cherub rejected our entire pile of Christmas books untried. Partly because she is in an “I know what I want, and I want what I know” stage, but – with hindsight – I think the main problem was that she suspected they might have Father Christmas / Santa lurking in the pages somewhere. Cherub does not like Father Christmas one bit! If I’d thought of that at the time I might have been able to defuse the worry, but I only realised it just now. It would explain why Hannukah books were OK, but Christmas books not. She was quite happy for me to tell her the Christmas story, and she did eventually decide The Christmas Story by Brian Wildsmith was acceptable, but other than that, our Christmas books are going to have to wait for next year.
That’s too bad. Funny that she does not like Father Christmas. All these books are Santa free. Better luck next year.
