Why all the photoblogging….

Why all the photoblogging….

You might have noticed that things have been a little light here on the blogging front. Lots of cute pictures but not so much on the substantive, thoughtful posts.

Baby Ben my good sleeper has taken a turn for the fussy.

He looks so sweet and innocent doesn’t he? Not at all like a sleep-wrecker.

He used to reliably go down for the night within about an hour of the girls’ bedtime and would usually sleep all night with maybe one wakeup.  A couple of nights a week at least I could use some of that late-evening time to write before I went to bed myself. Now he’s not going down so easily. I have to nurse him down two or three times before he really settles for the evening. And then he’s been waking once or twice more after I go to bed. And sometimes he has not been so interested in going back to sleep. The other morning both of us were wide awake between 3 and 5 am.

So I’ve also been short on sleep and have been using nap time to catch up on sleep myself. Or to try to get things done around the house. Until we shake down into a new sleep routine, it looks like I’ll be mostly posting pictures. I have so many things I want to write about but either they will wait and I can write on them later or else they’ll just have to go unwritten.

I’m not sure anyone but me really cares, though. I suspect most of you come around for the cute pictures and anecdotes anyway.

Oh and if I owe you an email, I apologize. Between the lack of time to write and the sleep-deprivation haze, a few things have fallen through the cracks. I’m trying to dig myself out but I’m also trying to catch up on housework and other important things like feeding the family.
