When Dom went in to tell Bella it was time for bed, he found that she’d laid out a dinner party on the toy chest in her room.
Bella offers me a bowl.
She’d spread out a blanket for a table cloth, used the top of the plastic box where she keeps her food as a tray, and set out a bunch of bowls with food in them.
Bella shows me the stickers she’s put on the bowl.
Around her makeshift table she’d arranged Tigger, Pooh, her hippo and a dolly. Dolly is in the toy basket in the foreground. That’s Pooh on the bean bag chair under the white Easter hat.
Bella offers me a bowl of hot dogs and hot dog buns.
She’d sorted all the food into bowls by type. All the french fries were in one bowl, the potato chips in another. The whole layout was quite impressive in its orderliness.
All of this was quite unprompted by us. I’ve never encouraged her to throw tea-parties. I love that she has invented them on her own, in her own inimitable style.
We made her go put on her pajamas; but let her leave her party as she’d set it up.
I just love Roses that bloom into Fall!
Which reminds me it’s almost time to plant bulbs!
