  • My mom gave me “The Wonder Within” with my first pregnancy, and I still like to go back to it.

Showed the Einstein video and Matt to our kids too -thanks for sharing!

  • Hi Melanie,
I am a lurker on your blog since about when Sophie was born, although I think I have commented once or twice before.

Thank you for linking to this.  I’m due with my third in about a month, and this article came at the right time.  (3 year old girl, 2 year old boy, about like your spacing) Maybe you could edit a book on “the spirituality of pregnancy and childbirth” with contributions of different birth stories.  Not that you don’t already have enough to do! wink

Thank you for sharing on your own birth experiences and your prayer life.  They have really helped me. Such a simple sentence doesn’t communicate half of what I mean.  I really enjoy your blog and find what you share about your prayer life very, very helpful.  Particularly about toddlers at Mass and prayer life with them at home.

    Thank you again,
    Meg

  • Hi,

AMEN. I’ve found almost all of my “spirituality of morning sickness” on the web—gleaned from various blogs. The couple of books I’ve been given—“Labor of Love” and one other that escapes me—seem almost to minimize it. I’m not sure these authors had nausea very severely themselves? Birth and prayer has come mostly from the web, too—you, Evlogia, and Elizabeth Foss to name a few.  A much needed volume awaits your pen!

  • Melanie, thanks for linking to the article (I JUST saw this), and I am writing a book that deals with the spiritual implications of childbirth (as well as lived disability and dying).  Thanks for the encouragement!
