That is so sweet. I love hearing little ones recite things. Last year in school my oldest daughter had to memorize a poem and chose “The Charge of the Light Brigade”. She taught the first stanza to my 3yr old son who would then go around reciting,
“Half a league, half a league, half a league onward, all in the valley of death rode the six hundred. . . charge for the guns he said. Into the valley of death rode the six hundred.”
He even had the expression correct. We would randomly ask him to recite it just to hear him because it was just so cute.
Jessica, I’d love to hear Bella recite The Charge of the Light Brigade. What fun!
Kathryn,
No, but I think she was in her play kitchen so maybe she was pretending marmalade.
I actually don’t eat marmalade very often, though I do love it—not sure why except my default breakfast these days is oatmeal and I actually eat toast rarely. I pulled out a jar and spread some on toast for Bella recently so she could try it and know what the poem was talking about. She enjoyed it; but hasn’t asked for more.

Awww, that’s so cute and SMART!
I need to read more Pooh stories to my kids.

Oh… one of my very, very favorite poems. The other Milne favorite is “Halfway Up the Stairs”. Does she know that one yet?
And was she eating marmalade at the time?
You have reminded I must dig out the A.A.Milne poems for Cherub.
