Today we took Ben and Sophie to the pediatrician for their two-month and eighteen-month check-ups.
Both had gained an inch in height. Ben now weighs 13 pounds, 9 ounces. Sophie is 22 pounds, 30 inches. Ben is about 80th percentile in height and 90th for weight. Sophie remains about 10th for height and 20th for weight. If they keep going like that he’s going to catch up to her soon.
The doctor asked if Ben was smiling and cooing. I said yes and then turned to him and gave him a prompt, “Hi, Ben!” in a breathy voice that usually makes him smile. Sure enough, he turned on his smile and began to laugh and coo. He’s such a charmer!
The doctor asked how many words Sophie knew and Dom and I were stumped. I’d never thought to count. “Ten?” she asked. Oh way, way more than ten. “Twenty-five?” At the very least. Seems like it’s many, many more than that. I decided to write up a list when we got home. I’m at about 90 and I’m not sure I’ve got them all. I figured I’d list them here because it’s interesting to see what she knows:

Around here, dolls are “baby dolls” and babies are “dollbabies”.
I followed the link here from your comment on Sarah’s blog because I enjoyed “your world” so much. Great post!
What fun! As Cherub would put it, a great good idea. I’ve done one too.
I love it! Especially the putting on of shoes – it’s a grand exciting occasion. And I would add that band-aids also heal all imaginary boo-boos also, in our world
