I have the same book. I love it, not as a guide on how to do it perfectly, but as a go to guide for encouragement and tips from someone who does it obsessively, but understands that not all of us have the same obsession, though we may strive to get closer to it. great book!!

Unfortunately I overdid it and was in some pain before I’d finished cooking dinner. Need to learn to pace myself. Baby steps.

mendelson’s book is great.  i think her intro (or is it chapter 1?) is worth the price of the book.  so good.  i’d also really recommend margaret kim peterson’s “keeping house:  the litany of everyday life.”  it’s basically a theology of the home and is well written.  it was very encouraging to me.

Thanks for the recommend, Kate. Peterson’s book is next on my list to hunt down. I’ve seen other people mention it; but am glad to have another positive review. I’m looking forward to it.

I’m definitely going to buy Home Comforts. Right now I’m reading a library copy. You’re right about the first chapter.
