Dom brought me flowers for our anniversary.
Aren’t they beautiful?
My dad left this morning. We were so very glad to have him here. He will be sorely missed, especially by two little girls who adore him.
He was very patient in reading books. Especially to Sophie who will demand the same book 20 times in a row.
“Read this book, Grandad.”
He held Ben. Who does not like to be put down. Ever. A very nice break for me.
Ben hangs with granddad.
He took the girls to the playground that’s a mile from our house almost every day.
Bella climbs into the stroller all by herself. (She also dressed herself. Love the striped shirt with plaid skirt!)
Ready to go.
And they’re off.
I had some nice quiet times with Ben.
From the Garden
My hosta is finally blooming.
And some gigantic marigolds.
I still have some roses and one azalea bush is blooming again.
I’m not sure what this white flower is. It came up next to the rose bush on the side of the house. Pretty, isn’t it?
The nasturtiums in my front bed are lovely.
My sunflowers are only about 18 inches tall and have no blooms as yet.
Every day I’ve gone out and plucked some tomatoes from the garden.
Today we went to the farmer’s market. Dom, I and the three kids. Ben slept snugly in his sling nest. Bella ate apples and cookies and muffins, walked in the sand, threw rocks, chased geese, wandered about in a daze staring at fruit and vegetables and people. Princess Sophie sat in her stroller chariot and munched on food. We didn’t let her down to wander, despite her protests. Too much goose poop.
Our picnic lunch.
We had a nice picnic lunch with some smoked fish pates on rosemary crostini. Dom particularly liked the salmon. I was in love with the bluefish. Bella ate plain crackers. Sophie shared the bluefish with me. She likes strong flavors. I had one of those mint-orange blossom sweet iced teas that I love. Dom had iced coffee.
We bought collard greens, blue potatoes, green beans, cucumbers, carrots, corn, onions, and apples.
Have a lovely weekend!
Another one for the reading list! Thanks, Melanie!
