“established” Yeah, it’s kinda strange to me too and its the reality I live with every day. Sometimes I step back and feel this awe that these two kids are such a normal part of my life. Where did that come from?
I’m watching this and suddenly having the weird thought of how it seems just like yesterday to me that you didn’t have any children—and your second is having her first birthday! How strange it is to me, so far away, to comprehend not only your having begun a family, but having it become… established!
Yes, we have the birthday obsession too … pretty much daily discussions about her birthday cake, her birthday party (I think everyone she knows plus their friends and relations must be invited), her birthday presents … and it is still 3 months to her birthday! Also we have to go round the year listing everyone’s birthday in order … “who next? who next?” … and she is always delighted to discover that it eventually ends up at another birthday for her.
