Amy,
You are in my prayers. I hope it gives you at least a little more hope—my sister was diagnosed with thyroid cancer during her first pregnancy. She did need surgery and iodine treatments, and it was a scary time. But that baby is well and now 7 years old, has a healthy 4 year old sister, and twin brothers on the way! So while I will pray of course for a benign finding—please know that thyroid cancer is MUCH, much easier to treat completely and recover from than almost any other. This is in part because thyroid cells can be identified from any other cell—so it can be found! It is most certainly not the immediate threat that any other cancer diagnosis is. God bless you and your family!
Praying, both for Amy and for your mother in law.
