“Desi Cool Bum”

Bella’s latest preoccupation has been diapering her dolly. Previously the dolly wore a diaper but mommy and daddy were responsible for putting it on and “fixing it” when it came off. But the diaper came off during the time I was in the hospital and never was replaced. In the last day or two though she’s been getting a diaper out and trying to put it on the dolly again. The novelty now is that Bella is really getting into the process of diapering. She grabs a condiment container (either the ketchup bottle or the ice cream carton) from her toy food and uses it as Desitin, “desi”, dabbing her finger in and applying it to the dolly’s bottom or “bum”. “Desi cool bum,” she says.

Then poor dolly, having been diapered, gets to take a nap. She is laid on the couch and the couch cushion and several blankets are piled on top of her. Poor smothered doll. I just hope we don’t try that with Sophia.
