Wrapping books to mail out for Book Mooch I had a scrap of brown paper left over and gave it to Bella when she came begging. I looked up a little later when she was whining her frustrated noise to see her wrapping her toy remote control in the strip of paper.

Bella begged a wet wipe during her diaper change this morning. Later she used it to wipe down the coffee table, my bottle of water and water glass, and the front window. Then I saw her closing it in the pages of one of her board books.

Great leaps and bounds in the silverware and table manners department: at least half of today’s penne with meat sauce was consumed with the aid of a fork. And when she did use her fingers, she wiped them very neatly on a napkin. And this with no prompting from mama. I think she ate much more meat and tomato pieces than she does when she uses her fingers to grab the pasta. The fork gave her that little extra incentive to pick them up and get them to her mouth.
