Baby Quilt Photos

I finished the baby quilt last Sunday and have finally got around to shooting and uploading photos. This is the fourth baby quilt I’ve made and the ninth quilt. I little thought when I made my first quilt back in 2003 that I’d soon be making one for my own baby. I’m pretty proud of this one.

Blue is my favorite color, so even though we are expecting a girl I wanted lots of blue in the quilt. But the patterns of the fabrics are flowers and butterflies… very girly.

The back of the quilt is flannel, a pale blue and white stripe that doesn’t really show up well. I’m already thinking such a light color was a mistake, it will show every smudge and already has picked up bits of dirt from when I’ve put it on the floor.

I machine pieced the top, hand quilted around the border and hand tied at the corners and centers of each block. The binding is all hand stitched.

Now I can’t wait to take more photos of the quilt with the baby on it!

  • Hello!  As a highschool student who IS looking for a real liberal arts education, and who is seriously considering U of Dallas, I would love to read a post in which you desribe and evaluate your overall experience of UD.  Thanks so much for your consideration!  God bless.  -Meg- (1234)

  • Hi Meg,

I would love to write up something like that.  In fact I’ll start something now.

One caveat: I have a hard time writing briefly about things I feel passionately about so this is likely to be a very long entry. And given that I’m libel to go into labor at any moment, I may or may not get it finished.

So look back here in the next few days but if I don’t have it up soon, I will come back to your request.
