Jack Spratt Could Eat No Fat...
I'm always amused when we have soup for dinner. Bella only wants to eat the broth and has to be coaxed to eat the chunks. Sophie has to have most of the broth drained or else it will spill all over. But between the two of them, they finish a complete bowl of soup.

In the Bleak Midwinter
Are you getting tired of snow pictures yet? Too bad. I'm not.
We didn't make it to Mass this morning. For obvious reasons. Instead we had a leisurely morning and watched the Sunday Mass at the Basiica at Notre Dame.
Dom is loving his new snow blower!
Bella cooling her heels on the back step while Dom snow-blowed the front drive.
Drifts up to 18 inches. (Yes, that's my quilting ruler.)
Bella examines the cleared driveway.
Bella measures the depth of the snow.
Bella in her new snow pants. (She was not pleased with me snapping a picture when she wanted to take them off.)
Snow shovels.
Meanwhile the girls run around to burn off the excess energy.
Around and around the coffee table chanting about shepherds and sheep and St Joseph and the manger.
Daddy's still clearing the driveway....
After the kids went down for their naps, I took myself outside to enjoy some fresh air and to play in the snow that had drifted up to my knees. I had fun snapping photos.
So beautiful... the world in black and white.
I was surprised when I was in the far corner of the yard to hear a twittering and see leaves falling from the trees to drift across the snow. I looked up to see a nest and a little bird poking at the nest. I'm not sure what it was, though.
You can sort of see the body here, though the head is obscured. A finch of some sort?

All too soon I heard Ben screaming and I had to go back inside.
Hot cocoa with peppermint schnapps.... mmmm! Homemade hot wings. Sweet cuddling nursing baby.
And the day ended with a beautiful sunset.
Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace.

Good Morning, Blizzard

None of these pictures captures the power of the wind blowing the snow sideways down the street.
