Monday Nov 7

Bella did math and copywork and read to me. And chose a sentence for dictation and copied it.

Sophie did math and copywork, French and geography.

Anthony did math, read Little Bear, copied a sentence.

Ben did math, pages in his letter book, copywork.

My friend Karin came for a lovely visit. While she was here we spotted a hawk perched on the fence in the backyard. It stayed there for a few minutes and then flew away. Amazing.

Tuesday Nov 8

Bella did math, copywork, we read History of Science and discussed.

Sophie did math and copywork, French and geography.

Anthony did math, read about St Stephen in his saints book, copied a sentence.

Ben did math, pages in his letter book, copywork.

Afternoon stories: Great Northern, St Anthony of Padua, Life of Our Lord, Leaf by Niggle (choice of LbN inspired by the discussion of Life of Our Lord and heaven. It seemed apropos and was rather a hit. And sparked even more discussion about purgatory and heaven.

Bedtime story: The Odyssey.

Wednesday Nov 9

I had a dr appt but somehow most everything got done anyhow.

Bella did math, copywork, and we prepped her dictation, looking at parts of speech. She learned about infinitive verbs and we discussed the use of the infinitive in “One ring to rule them all….”

Sophie did 2 pages of Miquon math, a bit of MEP, and copywork,

Ben and Anthony did Miquon. Anthony read to me from his saint book and copied a sentence.

Ben did a letter page.

Afternoon stories: Great Northern, St Anthony of Padua, Story of the World (Indus River), book about symbiosis. Then Anthony asked to read my Path to Heaven. The others drifted away, but he stuck with it and we had a good discussion. Ben is really starting to get into the discussions of books. Anticipating events and discussing Great Northern especially.

Thursday November 10

Bella did math. Sophie did math and copywork. Ben did math, letter page, and copywork. Anthony did math, read me a saint story, and copywork.

Grocery shopping. Listened to The Silmarillion in the car.

Everyone did math and copywork. Bella did her week’s dictation. I had an allergist appt.

    The kids are getting so big and Bella is practically a young lady. Everyone looks wonderful!
