Hello, World!

Hello, World!

On Wednesday I got a peek a little Baby Bettinelli, aged 10 weeks. (Sure, the OBs insist it’s 12 weeks but I refuse to count the two weeks before the baby was conceived. That’s just unscientific.) I am happy to report that Baby is very, very active and loves to play with his/her toes and touch his nose and stretch and turn and wave. The ultrasound tech was very impressed at the level of activity and oohed and aaahed much more than I did—which will surprise no one who knows me well since I’m not really the ooohing and aahing type.

While I’m very happy (and more than a bit relieved) to see our newest little one, posting this is bittersweet. My heart is also aching for a friend who is making burial arrangements for her baby who is about the same age. Please say a prayer for Geek Lady and her family.

  • We had a wedding song mishap too. This was in the pre-iPod era though and I put the wrong cd in the right case. We were supposed to dance to William Bolcom’s Ghost Rag (Sean’s favorite song) and instead got Mozart. The DJ was quick on his feet and switched it to Keeper of the Stars, by Tracy Byrd which was surprisingly sweet even though a bit sappy.

  • What a fantastic list, Melanie! Dan created a playlist for our wedding, too. It was so much fun (during the reception) to hear each song he’d put on there. We still listen to those CDs to this day. Such sweet memories. smile

  • We have amazingly similar taste in music and I have shamelessly copied this playlist (what I could find) into my Spotify playlists!  Thanks!!

  • What a great list! Love how some of it is very timeless, and some of the songs very tied to the time!

  • Oh my, we are getting married in a couple of weeks and this is exactly what I have been looking for… A fantastic list indeed.
